Longfellow’s Running Club meets every morning before school, from 8:40 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. It’s a great way for students to wake up, move their bodies, and ease into the school day feeling focused and energized.
The Longfellow Fun Run Club is a free, before-school walking and running program open to all students. Each morning, students can head to the Joint Use Field track to walk, run, get moving, and start the day with friends before the bell rings.
Students use personalized Lap Tracker Cards to record their progress throughout the year and are recognized as they reach new mileage milestones with charms, prizes, and special celebrations.
Fun Run is 100% volunteer-run and proudly funded by the Los Compadres PTO. Volunteers help set up, scan lap cards, supervise students, cheer runners on, and keep the track safe and welcoming.
No running experience is needed to volunteer—just a positive attitude and a little time. Cleared Longfellow volunteers are always welcome to join us in the morning.

If you’re available in the mornings, we’d love your help scanning mileage cards and cheering on our students. Even one morning a week makes a big difference.
