Unfortunately the large student pumpkin is growing a bit more than ours. You’ll also see that the injured student pumpkin is starting to grow and also has the first flowers of any of the GIANTS. These pictures were taken Monday with flowers only on the small plant, as of today all plants have female flowers open. The vines are growing about a foot a day at this point and I’ve cut back one of the vines on the large student plant already. If you want some scale to go by each of the wood pieces are 2’ across so do some calculations as to the vine length. I think by next week we’ll be pollinating the flowers. If anybody’s interested we can do a group show and tell on Tuesday or Wed. Do a bit of teaching and get everybody involved? Let me know if you’re interested.IMG00212-20100718-1229IMG00213-20100718-1230IMG00214-20100718-1231
