Help the Homeless: Bring a Blanket to Donate February 8 – 18

The News - News and Announcements

NACI – Longfellow’s community service committee -- Niños Ayudando Comunidades Internacionales (Children Helping International Communities) is sponsoring a blanket drive to help the homeless in San Diego County.   Please bring a new or gently used (and clean) blanket to school to donate between February 8 –18; and place it in a NACI box by the front office or in the auditorium.

There are over 4,000 people living on the streets in San Diego with another 2,500 in shelters.   Let’s help keep them warm.

Blankets will be donated to Embrace, a local non-profit that feeds the homeless three days per week year-round and conducts quarterly blanket drives.  www.embrace1.org.  Below are Embrace volunteers handing out blankets in San Diego.
